About Supernova Design Company & its Founder
physics & Chemistry, engineering, designing, building, ENJOYING!

The Idea
The idea for Supernova Design Company sparked in 2014 while founder Jesse Stanchfield was working in County Kildare, Ireland. Living in a converted horse stable and working as an Intel engineer, he woke from a dream about his first daughter with a simple mission: to design, build, and collaborate with people who want to make the world better through generosity and craftsmanship.
Precision Meets Craft
Growing up on Silver Strand Beach, CA, he spent hours in his father’s workshop, learning to shape drift wood into candles and watching eucalyptus slabs become beautiful handcrafted clocks. After earning degrees in Physics and Chemistry from the University of New Mexico, he spent 15 years as a process engineer at Intel. That experience now anchors his design philosophy — blending analytical precision with the tactile joy of woodworking and metal fabrication.

The Supernova Vision
Based in Portland, Oregon, Supernova Design Company creates CuKi (Custom Kitchen) Racks, built-ins, and furniture that merge function and form. Every piece is made to last and designed to make daily life a little better — practical art, handcrafted with patience and purpose.

When not designing, building or daddy-ing, Jesse enjoys training and teaching martial arts, mountin biking, all things ocean, climbing trees, puttering in the workshop and reading. He is currently a substitute martial arts instructor for Aim High Martial Arts and working on getting his next belt in BJJ at Five Rings Jiu Jitsu!
